Focus as a Service: an always-open focus room led by Hugh Mann, so you never have to start alone.

Starting is the hard part. People with ADHD, remote workers, students and veterans lose hours to the gap between intending to work and working. The fix with evidence behind it, another person present on a timer, is sold by Caveday and Flow Club at $35 to $40 a month, runs only when a host is scheduled, and is closed at 3 am when the gap is widest.

Problem.

Who. Adults who cannot start alone and already know it. They are on Focusmate's free tier, in a Caveday or Flow Club subscription they feel guilty about, or using a YouTube study video as a stand-in. They read Free Beer Friday or hughmann.life, or follow Hugh on X. Individuals only, never a district, agency or employer.

Must.

  • A room that is always open: a Sprint starts at every :00 and :30, Deep on the hour, Cave at 07:00, 13:00 and 19:00 CT, and a Solo start on demand; whoever is in the lobby when the clock turns is the group.
  • Hugh Mann runs every session: welcome, load phase, each break, check-out. He is silent during sprints, and nothing interrupts a sprint.
  • The beats carry all the engagement: a declared intention broken into steps, one progress question at each break, a check-out tally, Hugh recalling last session's intention next time, and a streak.
  • Voice-only, text-only and a Hugh mute from day one; no camera or microphone is ever required.
  • Hugh never counsels; 988, the Veterans Crisis Line and Crisis Text Line in every room's footer; the mental-health disclaimer at sign-up; no clinical claims.
  • The Why page is Wayne's first-person story and the research page is built only from the two real briefs; every citation links or it does not ship.
  • Self-serve and priced at $12 a month, included for Beer Bond members, under the FBS name.

Signal. Within 14 days of the Why page and waitlist going live, 25 waitlist sign-ups. Within 30 days of the Sprint room opening, ten people complete a full Sprint and five of them return for a second within a week.

Output. A room at focusasaservice.com the buyer can enter any hour, where a Sprint starts on the clock and Hugh runs it. They leave each session with a declared intention broken into steps, a tally of what shipped, a streak, and a leader who asks about it next time.

Investment case

  • Buyer. Adults who already know they cannot start alone: ADHD and neurodivergent adults, remote workers, students, veterans. Today they are on Focusmate's free tier, paying Caveday or Flow Club and skipping sessions, or playing a 'study with me' video on YouTube at night. Consumers only; no institutional buyer.
  • Price. $12 monthly — Matches Focusmate's paid tier, the only comparable at this price, while delivering Caveday's structure that costs $35. Low enough that a bond member sees it as a daily reason the bond is worth keeping, and the recurring cost per session is room minutes plus cents of Claude.
  • Path to market (owned channels). The Why page and waitlist go live before the room. Free Beer Friday carries the story as Wayne's lead, hughmann.life posts 'Hugh got a job', X runs it in Hugh's product slot, freebeer.ai/products lists it, and bond members are told they are already in. The first buyer is a Free Beer Friday reader who joins the waitlist and is let into the first Sprint room the day it opens, before Deep and Cave exist. Channel: Free Beer Friday, hughmann.life, X product slot, bond members.
  • Runs to MVP. 9 runner runs for the four-step MVP chain.
  • Wayne-minutes. 90 to a listed product.
  • Overlap with what we sell. adjacent: Adjacent. Same self-directed builders who buy the kits on freebeer.ai/deals and take the school at freebeer.ai/learn, but a recurring service rather than a one-time kit, and the first thing in the bond a member would use every day.

One page, M-062 form. Built on fbs-chassis: login, payment, brand and analytics are the chassis's and are not in scope.
