Beer Bonds — Terms

These are the terms. Written in plain words so a person can read them in three minutes. They are not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for your own. Nothing here is offered for sale until the ledger behind the numbers on this page is real.

What a Beer Bond is

One price, once, for everything Free Beer Studio ever makes.

  • The whole library, for life. Every product FBS ships — the ones that exist today and the ones that don't yet — at that product's top self-serve tier. A new product ships, and it is already yours. Nothing more to pay, ever.
  • Founder's row. You see everything before it's public, and you have a direct line to say what you want built.
  • Priority support. Questions about anything you own go to the front of the queue.
  • Your number. Bonds are numbered 1 through 5,000. Yours is yours, permanently, and it is shown on the wall (with your name only if you choose).

There are 5,000 bonds. When the last one is sold, there are no more — not later, not at a different price, not in a second series.

What a Beer Bond is not

  • Not equity. You do not own a piece of Free Beer Studio, and you get no vote in how it runs.
  • Not a share of revenue or profit. It never pays you money.
  • Not a security, not a debt, not a loan. The word "bond" is the name of a lifetime deal. Nothing is owed back to you in money.
  • An account, not an instrument. A bond is an account with lifetime access. It is not a stake in FBS, not a share of anything, and it never pays you money. FBS does not operate or broker a resale market for accounts.
  • Not consultancy. It does not include hands-on support for client-scale deployments or custom work. That is consultancy, and it is scoped and paid for separately.
  • Fourteen days to change your mind. Within 14 days of purchase you can have a full refund, no reason required — email wayne@freebeer.ai from the address you bought with. After 14 days the purchase is final.

How the price works

  • Bonds are sold in batches. Every bond in a batch costs the same.
  • A batch closes on whichever comes first: it sells out, or — for the first five batches — the studio ships the block of products named for that batch. Either way the next price turns on. The price only goes up.
  • If a batch closes because the products shipped, the bonds left in it are not cancelled: they move to the next batch and cost the next price. No bond is ever destroyed.
  • There is never a discount, never a sale, never a coupon, never a price that goes back down.
  • The current price and how many bonds are left at that price are shown live on the page — real counts from real sales, nothing else.
  • The price only goes up because the library only grows. Being early is the whole deal.

Everyone holds the same bond. A bond bought at the first price and a bond bought at the last price entitle the holder to exactly the same thing, forever. What differs is what you paid.

The Graduation Clause — what happens if a product is sold

Free Beer Studio may one day sell a product to someone else. Holders cannot lose when it does. This clause is part of the terms from day one:

  1. A product is only sold with your rights attached. Either the buyer agrees, as a condition of the sale, to honour your lifetime access to that product — or you receive the closest thing FBS still makes, at its top tier, for life.
  2. Every sale funds the next build. The money from a sale goes into building, and at least one new product enters the bond within twelve months of any product leaving.
  3. What you can check for yourself. The library never shrinks. A product leaving the studio means someone paid to own the work — and your seat is protected either way.

If Free Beer Studio winds down

An honest answer, because the deal is for life and the studio is one person.

  • What survives. Anything FBS can license to you outright — downloadable software, files, templates, documents, archives — stays yours. On wind-down, FBS will grant holders a perpetual licence to those products as they exist on that date, and will make final versions available for download.
  • What cannot survive. Anything that runs on servers FBS pays for — hosted apps, accounts, APIs, anything that only works while someone keeps the lights on — stops when the studio stops. No one can promise otherwise and mean it. FBS commits to giving at least 90 days' notice and a full export of your data before anything is switched off.
  • What you do not get. Money back at wind-down. Outside the fourteen-day window above, there is no refund, in whole or in part — including on wind-down.
  • What FBS will try. Where a hosted product can reasonably be released to holders to run themselves, or handed to someone who will keep running it, FBS will do that rather than shut it off. This is an intention, stated honestly, not a guarantee.

Questions

The questions people ask about the deal — including what it is and is not — are answered in the Questions section further up this page. The draft's own question list is the same list.
